When the wife of a Samurai officer is raped and her husband killed by a bandit, three different version of the incident are presented - that of the bandit, that of the wife and that of the husband. Each version strikes the viewer as true in its own fashion, and it is an intriguing and fascinating presentation of the conflicting faces of truth.

Three versions - three stand points - but same act. each one of them is telling the truth as he or she perceived it, the truth as they want to see it.

Immortalised by the legendary Akiro Kurusawa in the award-winning film of the same name, Rashomon is based on the Broadway play by Fay and Michael Kanin.

The Indian production was produced by Spectrum Multimedia, a Nandu Bhende company, in 1991.
